Synchrony Financial (NYSE: SYF) is a leading provider of consumer financing in the United States. Originally part of GE Capital, the company became a standalone entity following its IPO in 2014. Synchrony partners with a diverse range of national and regional retailers, local merchants, manufacturers, buying groups, industry associations, and healthcare service providers to offer private label credit cards, dual-branded cards, and installment loans. Its business is built on helping consumers finance purchases from everyday items to major life events. Additionally, through its subsidiary Synchrony Bank, it offers a suite of FDIC-insured savings products, including high-yield savings accounts, money market accounts, and certificates of deposit (CDs).
