Solana

Solana is a public blockchain protocol engineered for high speed and low transaction costs. Founded by Anatoly Yakovenko, it launched in 2020. Its core innovation is Proof-of-History (PoH), a consensus mechanism that facilitates a high throughput of over 65,000 transactions per second. The project is stewarded by the Solana Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Switzerland dedicated to the growth and decentralization of the Solana network. The core development of the protocol is primarily handled by Solana Labs, a US-based technology company. Solana's mission is to support the creation of decentralized applications (dApps) and crypto-assets at scale, aiming to make blockchain technology accessible to a global audience.
