HBD Token

The Hive-Backed Dollar (HBD) is not a traditional company but rather a core component of the decentralized Hive blockchain ecosystem. Hive is a social and content-focused blockchain that originated in March 2020 as a hard fork from the Steem blockchain. HBD was created to function as a stable currency within this ecosystem, providing a reliable store of value and medium of exchange for users, content creators, and decentralized applications (dApps). Its stability is maintained through a combination of on-chain conversion mechanisms with the network's native token (HIVE) and a dedicated HBD Stabilizer mechanism funded by the Hive Decentralized Fund (DHF). As a decentralized asset, it is not operated or controlled by a single corporate entity.
