It was known for its focus on niche markets and expertise in asset-backed finance. In May 2022, African Bank Group announced the acquisition of 100% of Grindrod Bank. The acquisition was finalized, and in 2023, the entity was officially rebranded to Access Commercial Bank, integrating its operations into the broader African Bank ecosystem.
