Green Exchange LLC, which later operated as ErisX, was founded to create a regulated marketplace for digital asset spot and futures contracts. The company aimed to bring traditional financial market structures and regulatory compliance to the cryptocurrency space, offering services to both institutional and individual participants. In 2022, the company was acquired by Cboe Global Markets and was subsequently rebranded as Cboe Digital Exchange, LLC. It continues to operate as a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), providing a secure and transparent platform for trading and clearing digital assets.
