Fraction

Founded in 2020 by Rayan Rafay, Hayden James, and Joshua Baker, Fraction Technologies Inc. was a Canadian fintech firm with a mission to make homeownership more affordable and flexible. The company's flagship product was the "Fraction Mortgage," a home equity agreement (HEA) that allowed homeowners to receive a lump-sum cash payment in exchange for a share in the future appreciation of their home. This model was designed to be a fairer alternative to traditional debt-based options like reverse mortgages or HELOCs. In late 2023, Fraction was acquired by the US-based home equity investment pioneer, Unison, and has since rebranded and integrated its operations under the Unison name.
