Founded in 2014, Even Responsible Finance, Inc. was a B2B2C financial benefits platform with a mission to help American workers break the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle. The company partnered with employers, including large corporations like Walmart and PayPal, to offer their employees a suite of financial wellness tools. Its core service was Instapay, which provided earned wage access (EWA), allowing employees to receive a portion of their earned wages before their scheduled payday. Beyond on-demand pay, the Even app also included automatic savings features and budgeting tools to help users manage their money more effectively. In January 2022, Even was acquired by ONE, a fintech venture backed by Walmart, and its services and team were integrated into the ONE platform to build a comprehensive financial services app.
