Founded by Joselito Lizarondo, Swipe was a financial technology company that aimed to bridge the cryptocurrency and fiat currency worlds. Its primary offerings included the Swipe Wallet, which allowed users to buy, sell, and store various cryptocurrencies, and the Swipe Visa Debit Card, which enabled users to spend their crypto assets at any location that accepts Visa. The platform also featured a B2B service, Swipe API, allowing other businesses to create and manage their own crypto-funded card programs. In 2020, Swipe was acquired by the major cryptocurrency exchange Binance. Following the acquisition, the project and its native token (SXP) were transitioned and rebranded into the Solar network, a decentralized blockchain project.
