RefToken aimed to revolutionize the affiliate marketing industry by leveraging blockchain technology and smart contracts. Its mission was to create a transparent and fraud-proof ecosystem for promoters (affiliates) and advertisers (primarily ICOs and dApps) to connect and manage referral campaigns. The platform was designed to automate payout processes and ensure that all referral data was immutable and verifiable on the Ethereum blockchain, thereby eliminating common disputes and the need for trusted intermediaries. The project held an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in late 2017 but ceased active development and communication in late 2018.
