Financial Markets Law Committee

Established in 1993 at the suggestion of the Governor of the Bank of England, the Financial Markets Law Committee (FMLC) is a non-profit body comprised of senior legal experts. Its mission is to identify issues of legal uncertainty, both current and potential, within the framework of wholesale financial markets and to propose practical solutions to resolve them. The FMLC's work supports the stability and efficiency of financial markets and reinforces the UK's position as a global financial centre by promoting legal clarity and predictability.
