Covestor

Founded in 2007, Covestor, Inc. operated as a registered investment adviser (RIA) that pioneered the concept of "social investing" or "mirror trading." The platform enabled investors to browse and select from numerous investment portfolios managed by various individuals, from seasoned professionals to talented amateur investors. Clients could then link their brokerage accounts to automatically replicate the trades made in their chosen portfolios for a management fee. In 2015, Covestor was acquired by Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. Its technology and business model were subsequently integrated into the Interactive Brokers' "Investors' Marketplace," and the standalone Covestor brand and platform were discontinued.
