Boston Private Wealth

Founded in 1987 as Boston Private Bank & Trust Company, the firm established itself as a leading provider of integrated wealth management, trust, and private banking services for individuals, families, and businesses. In July 2021, Boston Private was acquired by Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and was subsequently rebranded to SVB Private, forming the core of SVB's private banking and wealth management division. Following the failure of Silicon Valley Bank in March 2023, SVB Private was acquired by First Citizens Bank and continues to operate under the name "SVB Private" as a division of First Citizens Bank, focusing on the specialized financial needs of the innovation economy.
