Founded in 1995 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Barrie & Hibbert established itself as a premier global consultancy specializing in financial risk management. The company was renowned for its sophisticated stochastic modeling and its flagship product, the Economic Scenario Generator (ESG), which helped insurance companies and pension funds model and manage complex financial risks. In 2011, Barrie & Hibbert was acquired by Moody's Corporation for approximately £50 million.
