Barri Financial Group

Founded in 1984 in Houston, Texas, Barri Financial Group established itself as a key financial services provider for the Hispanic community in the United States. Operating as a brand of Sigue Corporation, its core business was facilitating international money transfers (remittances) to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition to wire transfers, Barri offered services such as check cashing, bill payments, and phone top-ups through its network of agent locations. In early 2024, the parent company, Sigue Corporation, faced a liquidity crisis, leading dozens of state regulators to suspend its licenses for failing to meet its financial obligations. Consequently, the company abruptly halted all operations and filed for bankruptcy protection.
