Banq is a technology platform and brand operated by its parent company, Prime Trust, LLC. It was designed to provide financial infrastructure for the digital economy, offering services such as qualified custody for digital assets, payment processing, trading APIs, and compliance solutions. The platform aimed to serve a wide range of clients, including individuals, fintech startups, exchanges, and financial institutions, by providing the tools needed to build and scale digital asset-based businesses securely and in a compliant manner. However, its parent company, Prime Trust, was placed into receivership in June 2023 and subsequently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2023.
