Verse

Verse was a fintech company founded in 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, that operated a mobile peer-to-peer payment platform. The app allowed users across Europe to send, receive, and request money instantly and without fees, targeting a younger demographic. It also offered features like a social feed for transactions, group expense splitting, and a virtual/physical debit card. In June 2020, Verse was acquired by Block, Inc. (formerly Square) to help expand its Cash App service into the European market. However, Verse continued to operate independently until June 2023, when it announced it would be closing down its service, officially ceasing all operations on September 13, 2023.
