Launched in 2019, Overbit was a digital asset trading platform that specialized in cryptocurrency derivatives, primarily perpetual contracts. Its mission was to provide a secure, user-friendly, and highly available platform for both novice and professional traders to speculate on cryptocurrency and forex markets with leverage, using Bitcoin (BTC) or Tether (USDT) as the underlying margin. The platform emphasized its military-grade security and a "zero-fee" trading model, instead profiting from the funding rate paid between traders. On December 20, 2022, Overbit officially announced it would cease all trading operations on December 31, 2022.
