Founded in 2017 by banking technology veteran Frank Sanchez, Finxact was established to address the limitations of legacy core banking systems. The company developed a "Core as a Service" platform built on a modern, cloud-native architecture with an extensive set of APIs. This allows banks and financial institutions to rapidly innovate, create new products, and integrate with third-party services. In 2022, Fiserv, a global leader in payments and financial technology, acquired Finxact to accelerate its digital banking strategy and offer next-generation core solutions to its clients. Finxact now operates as a key product within Fiserv's portfolio.
