Founded in 2003 and managed by private equity firm The Catalyst Capital Group Inc., Callidus focused on distressed and mid-market companies primarily in Canada and the United States. The company went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: CBL) in 2014. It was known for its high-interest loans, aggressive recovery tactics, and its controversial leadership.
