Bank North

Bank North, legally known as Bank North Limited, was a financial institution founded in 2018 with the mission to revolutionize lending for UK SMEs. It received its UK banking license (AWRB - Authorised with Restriction) in August 2021. The bank's model was built on a combination of cloud-native technology for speed and efficiency, coupled with regional "lending pods" staffed by experienced bankers to provide personalized service. Its primary focus was on delivering debt finance to businesses across the UK, promising faster decision-making and loan deployment than traditional banks. In March 2023, Bank North's SME lending business, assets, and the majority of its team were acquired by LHV UK Limited, and the company subsequently ceased its independent operations.
