Founded in 2006, Generation Mortgage Company established itself as one of the largest privately-owned reverse mortgage retailers and wholesalers in the U.S. The company specialized in providing Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECMs), allowing seniors aged 62 and older to convert part of their home equity into tax-free funds. Its mission was to help seniors achieve greater financial security in their retirement years. In September 2012, the company was acquired by MetLife Bank, N.A., which subsequently exited the reverse mortgage business.
