FONGIP

The Fonds de Garantie des Investissements Prioritaires (FONGIP) is a public-private partnership institution established by the government of Senegal. Its primary mission is to support economic development and job creation by de-risking bank loans to SMEs/SMIs, social economy enterprises, and other priority sectors. FONGIP acts as a third-party guarantor for financial institutions, thereby encouraging them to provide credit to businesses that might otherwise be considered too risky. This mechanism helps unlock private financing for key development projects and promotes entrepreneurship across Senegal.
