FairCoin

FairCoin (FAIR) is a decentralized cryptocurrency launched in 2014. It was closely associated with FairCoop, an open global cooperative aiming to create an alternative, more equitable economic ecosystem. Unlike many cryptocurrencies, FairCoin uses a unique consensus mechanism called Proof-of-Cooperation (PoC), which is designed to be more energy-efficient and collaborative than Proof-of-Work or Proof-of-Stake. The project's mission was to provide a stable financial tool for activists, cooperatives, and solidarity-based economic initiatives worldwide. However, active development and community engagement have ceased in recent years.
