Founded in 2015, Even Responsible Finance, Inc. aimed to help people end the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle by providing a mobile-first platform for financial wellness. Its core service, Instapay, allows employees of partner companies (like Walmart and PayPal) to access a portion of their earned wages before their scheduled payday. The platform also includes tools for automatic budgeting and savings. In 2022, Even was acquired by ONE Finance, Inc., a fintech venture backed by Walmart and Ribbit Capital. The service has since been integrated and rebranded as ONE@Work, combining Even's earned wage access features with ONE's digital banking services.
