Founded in the Cayman Islands in 2000 as DMS Governance, the company grew to become a recognized leader in fund governance, providing professional, independent directors and a comprehensive suite of risk management and compliance services to a global client base of investment funds. The firm specialized in offering solutions that enabled fund managers to meet their regulatory and governance obligations. In 2021, DMS merged with The Mako Group and MontLake to form Waystone, creating a single, global institutional provider of services to the asset management industry, covering fund governance, management company solutions (UCITS/AIFM), and compliance services.
