Deposit Protection Service

Launched in 2007, The Deposit Protection Service is the largest provider of tenancy deposit protection in the UK. Authorised by the government, its primary mission is to safeguard tenants' deposits and provide a free, impartial dispute resolution service to resolve disagreements at the end of a tenancy. The DPS offers two types of schemes: a Custodial scheme, where they hold the deposit for free throughout the tenancy, and an Insured scheme, where the landlord holds the deposit but pays a fee to protect it with The DPS. The service is operated by Computershare Investor Services PLC.
