Founded in 1993, Crédito Real established itself as a leading financial institution in Mexico focused on providing accessible credit solutions to segments of the population underserved by traditional banks. Its core products included payroll-deducted loans, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) loans, and financing for used cars. However, the company defaulted on a major bond payment in early 2022, leading to a severe financial crisis and its subsequent entry into a judicial liquidation process.
