Founded in 2016, Cover was an insurance technology (Insurtech) company with a mission to make insurance more accessible and user-friendly. The company operated as a digital broker, allowing users to get quotes for auto, home, renters, and other personal insurance by simply taking a picture of their existing policy or answering a few questions in their mobile app. Cover leveraged technology to shop for better rates across more than 30 insurance carriers on behalf of its customers. In August 2021, Cover was acquired by the European digital health insurance company, Alan, to support its expansion into the U.S. market. Following the acquisition, the Cover brand and services have been integrated into Alan's operations.
