CertaPay

CertaPay was a financial technology company founded in 2000 that developed the platform for email money transfers in Canada. The company was acquired by Acxsys Corporation in 2006, which along with Interac Association, later formed the modern Interac Corp. The technology and service pioneered by CertaPay now operate as *Interac* e-Transfer, a ubiquitous payment network in Canada that allows individuals and businesses to send and receive money directly between personal and business bank accounts using an email address or mobile phone number.
