Capital Small Finance Bank Limited began its journey as Capital Local Area Bank Ltd. on January 14, 2000, becoming the largest local area bank in India. On April 24, 2016, it started operations as India's first-ever small finance bank after receiving a license from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
