Budapest Bank

Founded in 1987, Budapest Bank was one of Hungary's first commercial banks. Initially state-owned, it was later acquired by GE Capital and then re-acquired by the Hungarian state in 2015. The bank provided a full range of financial and banking services to private individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large corporations within Hungary. On May 1, 2023, Budapest Bank officially ceased to exist as a separate brand and legal entity, as it completed its merger with MKB Bank and Takarékbank to create a new Hungarian-owned superbank, MBH Bank Nyrt.
