Braid was a financial technology company that provided a service for creating "Braid Pools," which were shared digital wallets. Its mission was to simplify group finances for shared expenses, goals, or collective saving without the complexity of joint bank accounts. The platform allowed multiple users to contribute money to a central pool, track spending, and manage funds collaboratively using a dedicated Braid debit card. Backed by investors including Y Combinator (W20), Braid officially shut down its services on June 22, 2023, and returned all remaining user funds through its partner bank, Blue Ridge Bank, N.A.
